Huawei Ascend Mate 6.1-inch Phablet Unveiled At CES 2013

With the arrival of CES 2013, the Asian phone makers like Samsung and Huawei already started to hold their launching events. Chinese company Huawei revealed its new handset, a phablet that has a 6.1-inch display and that runs Google’s operating system, Android. The OS is actually the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean which is operating through a 720p display. Among other specifications we can mention a 1.5GHz quad core processor and an 8MP rear camera.

Until now the biggest device that bordered the phones and tablets was Samsung’s Galaxy Note 2, but Huawei rose the bar even higher with its 6.1-inch Ascend Mate, though it would have been nice if the company would’ve implemented a bigger resolution to it, as 720p is not that impressive nowadays. The phablet also sports 2GB of RAM, a 4050 mAh battery and Magic Touch technology which gives the users the possibility to use the device even if they have gloves on their hands, just like the Nokia Lumia 920.

The Ascend Mate comes with the company’s Emotion UI, apart from Android, and it also features a one handed mode that enables users to easily perform tasks using just one hand. However, I can’t really figure out how the one handed mode can be used considering that the device is huge. The price tag of the Huawei Ascend Mate has not been made public yet, but lets hope it won’t be too high as the price is a very important factor when you decide to buy a device.
