Samsung Galaxy S2 And Galaxy Note To Receive Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean In January

It’s pretty clear that it won’t be long until the Samsung Galaxy Note and the Galaxy S2 will be given the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean official update, reports say that it will happen as soon as next month.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Galaxy note were released back in 2011 when all the Samsung devices had the standard Android 2.3 Gingerbread as an operating system. The handsets have really gone a long way as both will be updated with the newest software, the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. If we take the unofficial sources for granted, the two Samsung flagship smartphones will pass over the Android 4.1.1 version and will leap straight to Android 4.1.2.

The software will not also bring the new Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean to the two handsets, but it will also come with some of the features included by the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, features which seems to be extremely cherished by the users.

Representatives of the Canadian carrier Rogers validated that the LTE versions of the Galaxy Note and Galaxy S2 will receive the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. However, from my experience the first devices that usually receive firmware updates are the unlocked ones. The customers that bought one of the two smartphones with a contract (no matter from which carrier) will receive the update a little later, but if you are one of the users that don’t have any kind of carrier plan, you could probably get the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean by the end of next month.

For now neither of the Samsung officials have confirmed the news, but they are expected to come forward sometime soon.

When the Samsung Galaxy S2 was launched it has the best smartphone developed by the Korean company and probably the best on the market last year. The device sported a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED (even bigger than the Samsung Galaxy S), it was powered by a dual-core Exynos processor at 1.2 GHz, had 1GB  of RAM and an 8MP rear camera capable of recording Full HD video. The Samsung Galaxy note was not so different from the S2 in terms if specs, the only dissimilarity was the huge screen which measured 5.3 inches. Because of its big-sized display the Samsung Galaxy Note also received the nickname of “phablet” because its size was between the size of a phone and the one of a tablet. It had the identical Exynos processor, but with the difference that it was clocked to 1.4 GHz.
