HTC M7 To Be Unveiled At MWC 2013, Sports 1080p Display And HTC Sense 5

According to some sources, HTC is getting ready to release a brand new flagship Android smartphone that will feature components that have never been used on a handset until now. The device is only known by its codename, M7, and the company needs to make it right this time because its sales were not so good in the past few quarters.

HTC has launched the One X at the Mobile World Congress, so we think the M7 will be unveiled at a similar event. Even though it’s hard to beat the One X when it comes to bar-raising due to its quad-core processor, the M7 will actually be one of the first full HD mobile phones in the 4.7-inch class. The device is supposed to have a pixel density of 568PPI (which is more than 40% higher than the iPhone 5). This display is called SoLux and is reported to provide several visual enhancements over the former generation Super LCD2. The new display will boost viewing angles, color accuracy and outdoor visibility.

The sources claim that the HTC M7 will be powered be a second-generation quad-core CPU created by Qualcomm (the processor will be clocked at 1.7GHz per core). It will also sport 32 GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM. The M7 will support LTE and will probably run on Android Jelly Bean, and skinned with the latest iteration of HTC’s love-it-or-hate-it UX enhancement, Sense 5.

In 2012, the HTC One series had the marketing tagline  “Amazing camera, authentic sound”. As always, the Taiwanese company will try to take both camera and audio playback to the next level. Since the One X featured an 8MP camera and f/2.2 lens, HTC’s new phone will presumably sport a 13MP CCD and even larger f/2.0 lens. The new image sensor, called Cinesensor, has been improved, and the user will be capable of taking photos on a higher image quality and he will also enjoy new features like the super slow-mo and video HDR. What’s more interesting is that the 2MP front will be able to take 1080p video capture.
