Nokia Lumia 920 Software Update To Roll Out By The End Of The Year

Nokia Lumia 920 is one of the first smartphones running on Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8. Nokia Lumia 920 is already available on the North American market, in China and a couple of European countries, and rumor has it that the Windows Phone 8-powered smartphone will hit several more markets by the end of the year.

Nokia Care US posted a tweet saying that Microsoft and Nokia will roll out a software update for Lumia 920 by the end of the month.

Anyway, I am expecting to see the software update to hit other Windows Phone 8 smartphones, as well: HTC 8X, HTC 8, Nokia Lumia 820 or Samsung ATIV S. You probably know that Microsoft isn’t allowing the OMEs to customize the user interface of their Windows Phone terminals, that’s why the WP8 terminals might receive software updates pretty fast.

I don’t think that the Nokia Lumia 920 software update will bring any major changes, but rather some bug fixes, inherent for the launch of a new operating system. The companies will probably listen to the user feedback, then try to bring some improvements in web browsing, user interface, and, hopefully, a better camera app.

I remind you that Nokia Lumia 920 packs a 4.5-inch IPS display with 1280×720 pixels resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass protection and PureMotion HD+ technology. It is powered by a Qalcomm MSM8960 chipset with a dual-core Krait processor at 1.5 GHz, Adreno 225 GPU, 1 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage.

In terms of connectivity it comes with 3G (up to 42 Mbps), WiFi, a/b/g/n, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 3.1, microUSB, 3.5 mm jack and GPS. The camera is an 8.7 megapixel sensor, with Cral Zeiss optics, image stabilization, autofocus, dual-LED flash, PureView technology, geo-tagging, full HD video recording at 30 fps, while the front-facing camera is a 1.3 megapixel unit. Nokia Lumia 920 has a 2,000 mAh battery, weighs in 185 grams and is 10.7 mm thick.
