Microsoft Surface With Windows 8 Pro Release Date And Price Are January 2013 For $899

Microsoft has officially announced the price and release date of the Surface tablet running on Windows 8 Pro. The 64 GB model will have a price of $899, while the 12 GB Microsoft Surface Pro will top $999. Microsof Surface Pro release date was set for January 2013.

It’s been almost a month since Microsoft Surface with Windows RT made the official debut, but there are many out there who are interested in purchasing the model running on Windows 8 Pro. Microsoft knows this, that’s why the Redmond-based company has posted a press release on its official blog.

As I mentioned above, Surface with Windows 8 Pro will become available as of January 2013, with a price starting at $899. There will be two internal storage options, 64 GB and 128 GB, with prices of $899 and $999, respectively.

Both models are packing a Surface stylus and it seems that the tablet features the Palm Block technology, which is stopping the device from responding when you accidentally touch the display with your palm. We’ve tested it on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and it’s working perfectly.

Microsoft Surface with Windows 8 Pro sports the third generation of Intel Core i5 processors and a 10.6-inch ClearType display with 10 touch points, 1,920 x 1,080 full HD resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. Microsoft Surface Pro will also include an USB 3.0 port, mini DisplayPort out with support of up to 2,560 x 1,440 pixels for an external monitor. The design follows the lines of Microsoft Surface RT, with the Dark Titanium body, dual 2×2 MIMI antennas, stand and a stylis.

The biggest difference between Microsoft Surface RT and Microsoft Surface Pro is that the latter one is capable of running all the apps that are currently available on Widows 7, being Microsoft’s new vision for what the portable systems will become in the future.

The Windows RT tablet are only capable of running the apps available in Windows Store, and all the companies that already created applications will have to optimize them with the tablets manufactured using ARM-based processors.
