Huawei Ascend W1 With Windows Phone 8 To Be Announced At CES 2013

For the time being we have seen Windows Phone 8 smartphones manufactured by Samsung, HTC and Nokia. Rumor has it that Huawei is on the verge of joining this exclusive club. Even thought the information is not official, some leaks are offering details about a new Windows Phone 8 smartphone, even though it wasn’t officially announced.

The latest gossips say that Huawei Ascend W1 with Windows Phone 8 on board will be announced at CES 2013 in Las Vegas, in the month of January. The guys at WPDang asked some questions and they even manged to get their hands on the list of technical specifications of the Huawei Ascend W1, but the didn’t get the confirmation from any of the company’s officials.

It seems that Huawei Ascend W1 will pack a 4-inch display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and that it will be powered by a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. The Windows Phone 8-powered smartphone will come with 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot that supports up to 32 GB.

Rumor has it that primary camera mounted on the back of the Huwaei Ascend W1 will have a 5 megapixel sensor, while the front-facing camera for video calls will be a 0.3 megapixel unit. All these will be underpinned by a 2,000 mAh, while the estimated price tag is $310.

Judging by the technical specifications, Huawei Ascend W1 will aim at the mid-end segment, as a competitor for the HTC Windows Phone 8S.
