HTC Droid DNA Announced With Full HD 5-inch Display And Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU

The tech blogs gossiped about the new HTC Droid DNA smartphone for some weeks, and the first rumors were indicating that the terminal will hit the market by the end of the year.

The Taiwan-based smartphone maker decided it’s time to make the new HTC Droid DNA official, so it was officially unveiled. HTC Droid DNA will be available on contract, exclusively on the US territory via Verizon Wireless. As of yesterday, all those willing to get their hands on the HTC Droid DNA will be able to pre-order it for $199.99 on a two year contract.

HTC Droid DNA might be the most powerful smartphone ever launched by the Taiwan-based company so far. Droid DNA is powered by a quad-core chipset manufactured by Qualcomm, the already-popular Snapdragon S4 Pro, dubbed to be the most powerful CPU on the market. But the processor is not Droid DNA’s main strength. The Adreno 320 GPU must underpin the resolution of 1080p of the 5-inch full HD S-LCD3 unit.

HTC Droid DNA’s 2 GB of RAM are more than enough for gaming and other apps, while the back accommodates an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash and 1080p video recording support.

There’s a 2 megapixel camera on the front panel, capable of HD video capture. The connectivity features list includes LTE, WiFi, NFC and Bluetooth 4.0. HTC Droid DNA also comes with Beats Audio and the terminal sports 16 GB of internal storage (no microSD card support included).

The battery is a 2,020 mAh battery that can be recharged wirelessly using the special dock. HTC Droid DNA is running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean doubled by HTC Sense UI 4+. The device will hit the store shelves as of November 21st.
