Samsung ATIV S is the first smartphone powered by Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 that was officially unveiled, the model debuting at IFA Berlin 2012, a month ago. Well, the pre-orders for this terminal have debuted as well, and, surprisingly, Samsung ATIV S is €100 cheaper than its biggest rival, Nokia Lumia 920.

ATIV S, as smartphone you can easily call “a Samsung Galaxy S3 running on Windows Phone 8″ has a price of €549.99, as it was listed by online store Vander Borre, a store that also started to receive pre-orders for this product. Meanwhile the Finland-based company has set a price of €649 for its Lumia 920. It’s true, Lumia 920 has some aces up the sleeve, like wireless recharging, PureView camera, but are all these worth extra €100?

Returning to the new Samsung Windows Phone 8 terminal, the release date wasn’t announced yet.

In case you aren’t aware of Samsung ATIV S’ technical specifications, learn that the smartphone is 8.7 mm thick, weighs in 135 grams and packs a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display with HD resolution, plus 1 GB of RAM, 16 or 32 GB of internal storage and an 8 megapixel camera on the back, with 1,080p video capture and autofocus.

The first Samsung Windows Phone 8-powered device is underpinned by a Snapdragon S4 chipset based on two Cortex A9 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz, powered by a 2,300 mAh battery.
