Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update For Samsung Galaxy S3 Rolled Out Officially

Even though the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S3 was supposed to hit the first terminals a month ago, synchronized with the debut of Galaxy Note 2, as early rumors were indicating, it seems that the official software update has finally arrived on the Samsung flagship smartphone.

Therefore, starting today, you should be able to update your Samsung Galaxy S3 to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S3 brings performance and speed improvements, courtesy of Project Butter, a reorganized settings menu, two Homescreen modes, a new notifications bar, with more actions, and S Note replacing S Memo. Moreover, you will also get to mess around with Google Now, which is definitely better than to S Voice.

A resizable Pop Up Play window shows up on the list of new features and you should know that the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S3 will be available to more regions towards the end of the month, so be patient if the software update hasn’t arrived yet/

You can either use Samsung KIES or the OTA method to install Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on your Samsung Galaxy S3. For the OTA update we’d recommend you to use a WiFi connection and have the battery level over 50%. The first country that confirmed the update is Poland and in the video below you can see Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Running on Samsung Galaxy S3.

Of course if you purchased your Samsung Galaxy S3 on contract, you will still have to wait a couple of weeks until the carrier’s software engineers are testing the firmware update.

Samsung Galaxy S3 was introduced in May 2012 at Samsung Unpacked event in London and it has since became the best selling Android-powered smartphone, with over 20 million units shipped in less than 100 days after the launch.

Samsung Galaxy S3 comes pre-loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and boasts a quad-core 1.4 GHz Exynos 4 Quad processor, 1 GB of RAM, 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display with HD resolution, NFC and 16/32/64 GB of internal flash storage. On the other hand the US variant comes with 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 CPU and 2 GB of RAM due to the LTE limitations of the Exynos chipset.
