Huawei To Announce Its First Windows Phone 8 Smartphone On September 25th

Huawei is one of the companies that teamed-up with Microsoft in order to launch the first Window Phone 8 smartphones. So far, we had a look at Samsung ATIV S, Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820. All three smartphones share a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 CPU clocked at 1.5 GHz and 1 GB of RAM.

The first unofficial details about the yet unannounced Windows Phone 8-powered Huawei smartphones have recently hit the web. The new Chinese smartphone will be available in four body colors: black, white, blue and pink. In terms of design the new Huawei smartphone based on Microsoft’s platform will be different for the company’s Android-powered devices, like Ascend P1/D1. The name of the new Windows Phone 8 smartphone might be Huawei Ascend W1, the “W” particle indicating that it will be underpinned by Microsoft’s mobile operating system.

It seems though that the China-based company will announce all the technical specifications of Ascend W1 on September 25th, making it available for purchase in November and December in Europe, China and US.

You can see that Huawei comes after big names like Samsung, Nokia and HTC, the latter one will reportedly unveil is WP8 terminals on September 19th, which is a sign that the Chinese are willing to become one of the major players of the smartphone market. There are still a couple of big names that are not on the Windows Phone 8 list, like Sony and Motorola, but the Japanese will probably announce their WP8-powered terminals later this year.

My guess is that the Huawei Ascend W1 will come with a dual-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 CPU, 1 GB of RAM, Adreno 225 GPU and the Modern UI that will be the same for all the smartphones running on Windows Phone 8. Still, I am expecting the price to be bellow the likes of Samsung, Nokia or HTC.
