Windows Phone 8-powered Nokia Lumia 820 Caught In The Wild

Windows Phone 8-powered Nokia Lumia 820 Caught In The Wild

As the Nokia World 2012 event is getting closer, ready to open its gates on September 5th, more leaked details about the new Windows Phone 8 Nokia smartphones are hitting the web.

Two days ago we got to see the back lid of what it seemed to be Nokia Lumia 820 and yesterday we showed you some Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820 renderings. We also had a look at some newly-issued patents which were confirming that new Nokia smartphones are in the works.

Today we are returning with fresh news about a Windows Phone 8-powered Nokia smartphones, supposedly the Nokia Lumia 820, that, in a bizarre fashion doesn’t look like any of the devices leaked the other day.

The smartphone was snapshoted in a white livery and what stroke me as unusual was the tiny flash next to the camera, a lot smaller than what I was expected, especially when compared to the previous leaked photos.

The Nokia stamps are definitely indicating that the device in the gallery below is just a prototype. You can see for yourself that the alleged Nokia Lumia 820 keeps the design language introduced with Nokia N9 an Lumia 800/900. The source that revealed the photo claims that the smartphone is running on Windows Phone 8 and that it comes with 335 MB of RAM (?).

I have to admit that, personally, I won’t be the biggest fan of another Lumia generation that borrows the design of N9. I know it was highly-appreciated phone, but seeing its design on 3 or 5 models with different names its just too much.

Launching the same phone updated with a new OS doesn’t sound like a good strategy and Nokia should at least change the hardware if the design remains the same. I’d like to see an HD display and dual-core processor on this Lumia 820, but I don’t believe that’s the case as it rather looks like a mid

-range smartphone.
