Dell Debuts XPS 10 Tablet With Windows RT And Dual-core Snapdragon S4 CPU

The new Dell XPS 10 has just been unveiled today in Berlin. The Windows RT tablet has a 10-inch display and features a micro USB port for external storage as well as a slick mobile keyboard dock. When it comes to the battery, Dell claims that it can last up to 20 hours on a single charge. However, it’s much better to be a little skeptical because devices’ batteries don’t last as the manufacturers say in most cases.

Apart from this, the Dell officials have not revealed any details about the device’s price or other hardware specifications. However, Alison Gardner claims that the tablet is meant for both work and play, thus is meets the needs of all users. More information about the XPS 10 will be available in the near future.

It was about time Dell re-examine its strategy concerning tablets because, let’s face it, the company’s previous android device didn’t do so well on the market. You might remember the streak 5 tablet-phone hybrid which was withdrawn from sale in the middle of 2011, after which Dell pulled the Streak 7. Now, Dell’s strategy is focused on the upcoming Windows 8 and Windows RT. Plus, with all the consumerization of IT that is going on in the enterprise, the company is prepared to come  with more high-end mobile devices that can be used at home, but also at work.
