HTC Desire X Officially Announced, Release Date Is Mid-September

Not long ago, we found out about a new HTC terminal, code named Proto. Today we get to meet it in person as the Taiwan-based company officially revealed it. Named HTC Desire X, the smartphone was introduced in Taiwan at an event to promote the phone to retailers, where the technical specifications and the first press photos were unveiled.

We already knew some of them courtesy of the leaks, but let’s see look at them once again.

HTC Desire X features a 4-inch Super LCD display with 480 x 800 pixels resolution, has 768 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage which can be expanded using a microSD card. Desire X sports a dual-core Qualcomm MSM8225 Snapdragon processor clocked at 1 GHz, 5 megapixel camera with BSI sensor, LED flash, F2.0 and 480 video recording.

The new HTC smartphone also comes with WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0, and 1,650 mAh battery. Desire X measures 118,5 x 62,3 x 9,3 mm and weighs in 120 grams.

HTC Desire X packs Beats Audio and its battery is detachable. The case is available in two colors, while the three Android-dedicated buttons are capacitive and placed beneath the display. In terms of design, the new smartphone is almost identical to Desire V. It has the same dimensions, while the metallic grille of the camera is now framed by a blue border. Moreover, the some small holes have been drilled above the display.

HTC said that the new Desire X will be available for purchase starting mid-September, and, even though the Taiwanese haven’t announced the price, we are expecting to see it around $300.
