LG Optimus L9 With Android Ice Cream Sandwich And 4.7-inch Display Unveiled At IFA Berlin 2012

LG have unveiled a new smartphone that will soon join the Optimus L series, coming next to Optimus L3, Optimus L5 and Optimus L7, the Android-powered smartphones that are supposed to bring the best price – performance ration on the market.

LG Optimus L9 will be positioned as the flagship device of the L series range, being the first and only one of them that packs a dual-core processor.

The flagship smartphone of the Optimus L line up, the L9, features 4.7-inch IPS display and is underpinned by a dualo-core processor clocked at 1 GHz. LG Optimus L9 also comes with 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage that can be extended using a microSD card (up to 32 GB supported), 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera and a primary 5 megapixel camera.

Optimus L9 comes pre-loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on which the South Koreans have added their proprietary user interface. The flagship smartphone sports 3G, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth, microUSB, 3.5 mm jack and GPS.

The 9.1 mm thick smartphone is kept alive by a Li-ion 2,150 mAh battery.

LG also brought some extra apps for it Optimus L9: a customizable QWERTY touch keyboard, QMemoTM for handwrite recognition (even though the phone’s package doesn’t include a stylus), QTranslator – a dictionary stored on the smartphone’s storage drive, which doesn’t require an internet connection to translate a word from a different language.

LG haven’t unveiled the release date of Optimus L9, but more details will be unveiled at IFA Berlin 2012, an event that is preparing to open its gates. LG Optimus L9 looks like a smartphone with decent specs and apps, now all we have to see is the price and tell whether is worth it. It should be very attractive.
