Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Specs Leaked Ahead Of Tomorrow’s Unpacked Event

On August 29th, Samsung will present the successor of the popular Galaxy Note phablet, during an Unpacked event, ahead of the IFA Berlin 2012 consumers electronics show.

One day ahead of the official launch event, the technical specifications of Samsung Galaxy Note 2 were unveiled by a South Korean publication. According to, Galaxy Note 2 will come with a huge 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display, a quad-core 1.4 GHz Exynos chipset and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

The same source reports that the next-gen Samsung pahblet will come with 8 megapixel camera, 4G LTE support and 16 or 32 GB of internal storage.

A couple of days ago, Samsung have posted a teaser video for the Unpacked event where the new smartphone will be introduced. The clip is centered on the idea of art and how easy it is to create it using the newest technology. The host of the Galaxy Note 2 teaser video is German director Wim Wenders, who emphases that the gadget stimulates creativity.

Returning to Galaxy Note 2′s technical specifications, it seems that the display will be manufactured using UBP plastic, which is basically unbreakable. According to, this type of display is theĀ predecessorĀ of the flexible displays, which will probably enter mass production in 2013.

The new technology used for the display will make the device even thinner. Moreover, the Galaxy Note 2 will have a battery that is more powerful than its successor’s. The new phablet will share Samsung Galaxy S3′s platform, with minor hardware and software improvements.

Even though we don’t know yet how Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will really look like, the leaked technical specifications are letting us know what’s inside the new phablet. Rumor has it that the capacitive multitouch display will have a size of 5.5 inches (diagonally) with HD resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels using Super AMOLED technology.

Even though it was initially rumored that Note 2 will have a 12 megapixel camera, the device will come with an 8 megapixel sensor (probably the same as the one installed on Samsung Galaxy S3), and with a quad-core Exynos 4412 processor clocked at 1.4 GHz.

The South Korea-based company decided to launch the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 earlier, in an attempt to draw the public’s attention from the launch of the highly expected iPhone 5, reportedly debuting on September 12th.

Anyway we will only have to wait until tomorrow, for official pictures and full list of technical specifications of the Galaxy Note 2, when Samsung will officially unveil the successor of the company’s first phablet.
