LG Optimus G’s Quad-core Snapdragon S4 CPU And True HD Display Officially Confirmed

A lot of news about the new LG Optimus G smartphone have surfaced the web in the last few days. This time, the story is told by the Korean OEM. Somehow, a few images of the device were leaked a couple of days ago, LG has finally confirmed that the leaked details about the new phone are real, and also revealed other details about the display it will sport.

The device will be powered by a Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and will have a 1280×768 True HD IPS+ display, coming in at 320ppi. I won’t go into more details, but it’s said that the display of the new LG smartphone is better than the AMOLED and consumes less power, in short.

The screen is gapless an and it’s being developed with LG Innotek. The G2 Touch Hybrid display is designed to eliminate the gap between the glass and the LCd panel. Actually, is kinda similar to the screen of the HTC One X.

According to the company, the LG Optimus G will have a battery that will last longer. However, the phone’s size or wight won’t be compromised  (the battery has been designed by LG Chem). If what LG is saying is actually true, then the battery of the device will be up to 60% more efficient than other batteries with the same size, which will be really great as users will be able to enjoy more power for longer.

The interesting thing is that the LG Optimus G is quite an in-house affair as the device is created by the mother company as well as by several other arms of LG. They say the device is going to be a “game-changer”, but will just have to see if the phone itself rises up to the pre-launch marketing.
