Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update For Samsung Galaxy S3 To Roll Out Synchronized With Galaxy Note 2 Debut

About a week ago, we witnessed the leaks of what seemed to be the technical specifications of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and some infos pointing that the official Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S3 will roll out synchronized with the debut of the new Samsung phablet.

Now the guys at Android Central are confirming that the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy S3 will arrive soon, right after the Galaxy Note 2 terminal is announced at Samsung Unpacked 2012.

Sources familiar to the South Korea-based phone maker have made the revealing for the aforementioned website and it seems that the new firmware update is in the final testing stage.

The same source also confirmed that on August 29th, Samsung Galaxy S3 will receive the update to the latest Android firmware, with Great Britain among the first countries to receive the upgrade.

Jelly Bean 4.1 for Galaxy S3 have recently hit the web, as an official leaked ROM prematurely that prematurely slipped between the fingers of the developers.

The update will bring new features for TouchWiz, like a new standby mode with improved notifications and alerts, and a “easy” mode fore easily dealing with the Home screens.

Still there will be interesting to see a comparison between the Exynos 4 Quad-powered Galaxy S3 running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and the Snapdragon S4 variant for US, running on the same firmware.

There are some voices saying that Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will come pre-loaded with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, while others are suggesting that the next-gen Samsung phablet will receive the new firmware as an update.

In my opinion, the second scenario seems more likely, as a device with specs similar to Galaxy S3 and running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box would really harm Samsung flagship’s sales.
