ZTE Blade III Is On Its Way With Bigger Display And Android Ice Cream Sandwich On Board

ZTE and Huawei are the most popular China-based companies that activate on the mobile phones market, especially on the low-end segment. ZTE even managed to climb up in the Top 5 world’s biggest smartphone vendors, next to companies like Samsung, Apple and Nokia – manufacturers with a lot huge reputation in the field.

ZTE Blade I debuted in 2010 and was positioned on the market as Android-powered budget smartphone. ZTE Blade II came up next in 2011, thus the 2012 should bring us the Blade III. That’s exactly what the rumor mill is talking about: a cheap android smartphone, with 4-inch display and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on board.

Let’s have a look at the technical specifications of the first two smartphones belonging to the ZTE Blade line-up.

ZTE Blade I features a 3.5-inch AMOLED / LCD display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, a single core processor clocked at 600 MHz, 512 MB of RAM and 150 MB of internal storage, plus a microSD card slot that supports up to 32 GB. The low-end smartphone also sports an Adreno 200 GPU and it comes pre-loaded with Android 2.2 Froyo.

The first Blade comes with all the connectivity features worthy of a smartphone: 3G, Wi-Fi, bluetooth, microUSB, 3.5 mm jack and GPS. It has a 3.15 megapixel camera on the back and a 1,250 mAh battery that keeps it alive. All these while weighing in 110 grans and being 11.8 mm thick.

On the other hand, ZTE Blade II arrived with a 3.5-inch TFT, sharing Blade I’s resloution: 480 x 800 pixels. The second generation Blade is underpinned by a single-core 1 GHz CPU and it sports 512 MB of RAM, 200 MB of internal flash storage, and microSD card slot (up to 32 GB included).

Besides the 3G, Wi-Fi, bluetooth, microUSB, 3.5 mm jack and GPS, the Android 2.3 Gingerbread-powered smartphone also featured a 5 megapixel camera. ZTE Blade II is thinner than its predecessor, 10.9 mm thick, but is 7 grams heavier, weighing in 117 grams.

The ZTE Blade III might be just an upgarde, with a more powerful single-core processor, 512 MB of RAM, 4-inch display, while Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich being the main improvement.
