Snapdragon S4-powered LG flagship To Arrive In Fall

Qualcomm is ready to sign a partnership deal with LG. The goal is to produce a brand new smartphone with a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor. The device will be firstly released in Korea, next month. The phone will probably be the rumored Optimus G, although LG did not confirm anything yet.

The LG Optimus G is supposed to have 2GB of RAM, an outstanding 13MP camera, a 4.7-inch IPS LCD screen and the above mentioned CPU, of course. What’s even more interesting is that LG is reportedly leveraging its own subsidiaries to produce a quad-core handset following the exact specifications of Koo Bob-Moo, the company’s chairman. The phone would be launched in early fall as well. It should be interesting what the new phone will come with, after seeing LG’s recent Optimus 4X HD.

According to AnandTech, LG’s nameless smartphone will sport Qualcomm’s benchmark-crushing APQ8064 quad-core SoC including the Adreno 320 GPU which will be combined with an MDM9615 baseband chip. From this, we can realize that the combination is more than similar to the one of Xiamoi’s China-only Mi2 smartphone. The word is that Xiamoi’s phone will be launched in October. If the release date remains the same, then LG’s new handset will be the first phone with the APQ8064 in the world.
