Xperia SL Confirmed By The Sony Website, Coming At IFA 2012

Sony Xperia SL, the successor of the more popular Xperia S already made the headlines courtesy of some leaks saying that the Japan-based company will officially unveil this smartphone at IFA Berlin 2012. Sony will showcase this terminal along side other new-comers like Xperia J, Xperia Mint, Hayabusa, and, probably that mysterious Xperia X.

Returning to Sony Xperia SL, the official Sony website now lists this product as “coming soon.” The only upgrade this smartphone brings compared to its predecessor is a newer processor. Sony Xperia SL features a dual-core Snapdragon S3 clocked at 1.7 GHz, more powerful than the one installed on Xperia S.

Moreover, the 4.3-inch terminal comes with two new body colors: sliver and pink. As well, Xperia SL will leave the factory gates pre-loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, an evolution considering that Xperia S came with Android 2.3 Gingerbread out of the box.

The rest of the technical specifications are unchanged, including the 12 megapixel camera, the HD display, 1 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal flash storage. The smartphone doesn’t sport a microSD card slot and has the same interesting features as its predecessor: fingerprint-proof surface, fast-charging (10 minutes for 1 hour of battery life) and a translucent bar in the lower end of the device, incorporated with the symbols of the capacitive buttons.
