Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update For Samsung Galaxy S3 Is On Its Way

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update For Samsung Galaxy S3 Is On Its Way

In case you are wondering when you will see the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S3, the answer would be: pretty soon.

This because Samsung’s star smartphone made a cameo in a video running on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. It seems that it’s a test version, unconfirmed officially. Even so, as you can see for yourself in the video below, the smartphone runs flawlessly on the new platform, while the new Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update looks as stable as it can be.

Earlier today we found out that as soon as Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will be announced at IFA Berlin 2012 in late August, the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean firmware update for Samsung Galaxy S3 will hit the international terminals.

Now we get to see a video of a Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone running on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, the famous quad-core smartphone running on build i9300XADLG4.

The user interface changes seem minor, while the most appreciated feature is Google Now, which makes S Voice and Siri blush. A slight increase in OS speed can be felt, too, as Google promised 60 FPS on their new mobile platform.

You can also notice the improved notification bar that now comes with new Jelly Bean-ish actions like instant sharing for screenshots and extended notifications.

As a whole the changes aren’t huge and the leap fro Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is not as big as you may think it would be, that’s why the update arrived on the compatible terminals pretty soon after the official announcement of the new operating system.

In the video below you can also see Google Now in action, in Spanish. Until the update is officially rolled out for all th devices we will definitely see more videos like this and CyanogenMod will probably bring an unofficial Jelly Bean ahead of Samsung.

If you think that the new update is worth a try and you don’t want to wait until early September, when the official version is expected to debut, then you can take a look here for more details. As you probably know, installing an unofficial ROM on your Samsung Galaxy S3 will void the warranty.
