Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich Update For Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7500 Rolls Out

Samsung have begun the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update program for the Galaxy Tab slates launched last year. Therefore the tablets have received, or will soon receive Android 4.0 ICS this summer.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 and Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus have already received the software update, and now it’s time for the controversial Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7500 to be updated to Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.

For the time being it seems that only the Italian users have received the Android 4.0.4 ICS update so far, which can be performed via Samsung Kies or OTA. You can also flash the ROM to your device and you can access samfirmware.com to download the firmware.

The date of the Android 4.0.4 ICS discovered in Italy is July 10th and I am sure that over the next week the Ice Cream Sandwich update for Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7500 will become global.

Of course, there might be some delays for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7500 units purchased through carriers, as the mobile network operators should take some time to create the bloatware. The next logical step is the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the 3G Samsung tablets, so stay tuned!

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7500 features a 10.1-inch PLS TFT display with a resolution of 800 x 1,280 pixels, a dual-core 1 GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 chipset, 1 GB of RAM and 16/32/64 GB of internal flash storage. Galaxy Tab 10.1 has a microSD card slot, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, dual-band, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 3.0 and microUSB 2.0.

The primary 3.15 megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus can record 720p videos, while the secondary, user-facing 2 megapixel sensor is useful during video calls.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7500 was released in June 2011 and it is leaving the factory gates with Android 3.1 Honeycomb on board.
