HTC To Introduce Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Tablet At UK-based Event

HTC is a shy apparition on the tablet market, but it looks like the Taiwan-based company is trying to change things in the near future. The phone and tablet marker is planning to introduce a new tablet in the United Kingdom, and the first rumors are indicating that it will be underpinned by the new Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

In May 2011, HTC launched the Flyer tablet, which is coming with HTC Scribe technology. Even so, the company couldn’t come with the power of other tablet manufacturers like Asus, Apple, Samsung or Amazon, which constantly improved their products trying to refresh their line-ups. The guys at HTC seems to focus all their efforts on the smartphone segment and the consumers are rewarding them with all their trust.

For the time being, the details about the technical specifications, price or release date of the new HTC tablet are unknown. One of the company’s officials said that HTC will try to make sure that their new product will be competitive bringing unique features that will help it make the headlines.

If it were to guess about the operating system of the new HTC tablet, it would say it will definitely come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, but Windows 8 is also an option. It would probably sport a 10.1-inch display, but a 7-inch tablet that aims at Google’s Nexus 7 can also be a solution, even though it’s not in the Taiwan-based company’s habit to launch cheap products.

The first HTC tablet, Flyer, comes with a 7-inch 600 x 1024 pixels LCD display, it has a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255T Scorpion CPU, 1 GB of RAM, 16 or 32 GB of internal storage and a 5 megapixel camera capable of recording 720p videos. Over the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS that comes stock on the device, the company have put their own HTC Sense UI, with handwriting support.

What is your opinion about the new HTC tablet? What are the Taiwanese preparing for us?
