Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich Update For Samsung Galaxy Note Rolls Out In Germany

The Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update for Samsung Galaxy Note is now available for download and it seems that Germany is the first market that receives it. After Google’s Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ and GSM variants have started to receive the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update and Android 4.0.4 ICS for Samsung Galaxy SII started to roll out yesterday, now it’s time for another Samsung smartphone to be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich, the Galaxy Note phablet.

Several German Samsung phablet owners have reported that the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update for Samsung Galaxy Note arrived on their device, thus the new firmware is expected to debut world wide very soon. The Android ICS update for Galaxy Note comes along with Samsung’s Premium Suite Package that has an interesting new feature: Pop-up-play. Let’s see how long it takes for Samsung to provide the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for their phablet.

Samsung Galaxy Note was introduced at IFA Berlin 2011 and was made available for purchase the same year, in October. The phablet brings a 5.3-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels, an Exynos chipset based on two ARM Cortex A9 cores clocked at 1.4 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal flash storage and microSD card slot that supports up to 32 GB. Note also sports an 8 megapixel camera with autofocus, LED Flash and support for full HD video recording, a 2,500 mAh battery. It is 9.7 mm thick and weighs in 178 grams.

Samsung officially announced that since Galaxy Note debuted in Q4 2011 more than 7 million units have been shipped world wide, making the device one of the best-selling Samsung smartphones.

Rumor has it that the South Korea-based company is readying a successor for Note, unofficially dubbed Galaxy Note 2, that will bring a 5.5-inch display, quad-core Exynos 4 Quad processor and 4G LTE capabilities.

You can see how assorted the Android smartphone range is and how the updates are offered in an apparently random way. The large number of variants is generating this chaos and many of the owners are unhappy that their device are sometimes left behind.
