South Korea is Samsung’s domestic market, so its products are highly¬†appreciated¬†in the Asian country. Most of the smartphone enthusiasts showed a lot of interest for Samsung Galaxy S3 with LTE support and Samsung sold 50,000 units on the launch day.

It’s not an impressive figure compared to Apple’s iPhone which is sold in thousands of hundreds of copies on the debut day, but Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE arrives on the market months away from the launch of the international version, but it brings: LTE, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage and T-DMB. It was enough to persuade 50,000 customers to get their hands on it.

Samsung also unveiled the sales figures for South Korea for Samsung Galaxy S and Samsung Galaxy S2, as 10,000 and 24,000 units, respectively, were sold on launch day.

Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE is available for purchase at three of the South Korea-based carriers.

The Samsung flagship comes with a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels, a quad-core Exynos 4 Quad CPU clocked at 1.4 GHz, 2 GB of RAM and 16 or 32 GB of internal storage expandable with up to 64 GB via microSD card. Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE also sports a Mali-400MP GPU and it comes pre-loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

In terms of connectivity the quad-core device comes with 3G, WiFi, microUSB, 3.5mm jack and GPS. It weighs in 133 grams, is 8.6 mm thick and has a 2,100 mAh battery. Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE comes with an 8 megapixel camera with full HD video recording support and a front-facing 1.3 megapixel unit for video calls.

The LTE smartphones winning in popularity lately, causing problems for Qualcomm, one of the biggest suppliers of LTE-friendly chipsets. The US-based company is having troubles manufacturing enough LTE-compatible Snapdragon S4 chipsets to fulfill the demand. HTC had to launch an One S with 1.7 GHz Snaprdagon S3 CPU on board in order to avoid running out of stock.
