Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 Release Date Pushed Back To July 19th

Samsung Galaxy S3 is definitely the hottest Android smartphone around and many of the US customers are eager to get their hands on one. If you are planning to pre-order it online from Verizon we have bad news for you, as the US’ biggest carrier have pushed the Samsung Galaxy S3 back to July 19th.

We know that buying the device from the comfort of your home is a lot more convenient, but since the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 release date was delayed until July 19th, we’d recommend you get out in the torrid weather and visit the closest Verizon store as the Samsung flagship will be on the shelves starting July 12th.

It’s sad to see how US’ biggest carrier constantly pulls back the release date of the most awaited Android smartphone of the year, while its customers can’t wait to get their hands on the impressive device.

Samsung Galaxy S3 was introduced on May 3rd in London and it hit the European market a few weeks after, on May 29th. The international version comes with a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display, Exynos 4 Quad chipset based on four ARM Cortex A9 cores clocked at 1.4 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, 16/32/64 GB of internal storage and 8 megapixel camera with full HD video recording capabilities. It also comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC chip and microUSB 2.0.

Because the US version of Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with 4G LTE support, the Exynos 4 Quad CPU was ditched. A LTE-friendly dual-core Snapdragon S4 clocked at 1.5 GHz was chosen to do the processing jobs helped by 2 GB of RAM. The South Korean version is a hybrid between the two, as it comes with 4G, Exynos 4 Quad CPU and 2 GB of RAM.

Besides the goodies brought by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with a lot of other interesting features like Direct Call (automatically calls the contact displayed on your screen if you hold the phone up to your ear), Smart Alert (vibrates if you pick up the device and you have unread notifications), Best Photo (captures 20 photos in burst mode and chooses the best one), Palm swipe to capture (takes screen capture by swiping the side of your hand over the display), Smart Stay (doesn’t dim the display as long as you are looking at it) and S-Beam (share files and media to another compatible device via NFC and WiFi Direct).
