Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Release Date Is September, Has 5.5-inch Display

After Samsung Galaxy S3 was officially introduced in May, we are looking forward to another two smartphone launches in 2012: iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

Samsung recently announced that more than seven million Galaxy Note units were already shipped, making the 5.3-inch phablet one of their most popular products. Therefore the launch of a successor for this big guy might be a wise decision for the South Korea-based company.

A lots of rumors are speculating that Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is already in the works, and the guys at GSMArena have some exclusive details about the product, coming from a source inside the company.

The insider source says that Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will have a slightly bigger display, 5.5-inches, 0.2-inches bigger than the 5.3-inch Super AMOLED display of the first Note. It seems that Galaxy Note 2′s 5.5-inch display will be based on the same Super AMOLED technology used for Samsung Galaxy S3. Galaxy Note 2 will also borrow the design and body colors of its smaller brother.

Rumor has it that Samsung Galaxy Note 2 release date was set for September, because the South Korean phone maker wants to start shipping their new phablet before Apple presents iPhone 5, reportedly coming in October.

Other speculations are pointing that Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will sport an 8 megapixel camera, 2 GB of internal storage and that it will share the quad-core Exynos 4 Quad with Galaxy S3.

Even though Android 4.1 Jelly Bean was officially unveiled a coupe of days ago, I am pretty sure that Note 2 will come pre-loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, so Galaxy S3′s market share stays untouched. It will probably have all the features of the new Samsung flagship, including S-Voice, S-Beam, Smart Alert or Best Call, but it might sport some extra apps optimized for the S-Pen.
