Acer Iconia Tab A110 Release Date And Price Are Q3 2012, Below $200

At Computex Taipei 2012 trade show Acer has launched their new Iconia Tab A110 tablet, a low-cost gadget, which will have a price tag below $200 and high-end specifications. With their new Acer Iconia Tab A110, the Taiwanese company aims to compete against Amazon Kindle Fire, the alleged iPad Mini and the highly-anticipated Android Jelly Bean tablet developed by Google and ASUS.

The new Acer Iconia Tab A110 tablet comes with a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels. It sports a latest gen Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core chipset, 1 GB of RAM, microSD card slot and most likely a 5 megapixel camera with full HD video recording support. The tablet also features a HDMI out that allows you to playback media content on a TV or monitor and comes pre-loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Acer Iconia Tab A110 release date was set for Q3 2012 and should come at a price below $200, writes The Verge.

As I mentioned above, Acer Iconia Tab A110′s main rival on the tablet market will be Google’s Nexus tablet, a slate manufactured by another Taiwanese company, ASUS.

Rumor has it that the 7-inch Nexus tablet will come with a HD display with a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels and it will be underpinned by Nvidia’s 4-PLUS-1 Tegra 3 SoC clocked at 1.3 GHz. Created on the frame of ASUS Eee Pad MeMo, Google Nexus Tablet’s display will be protected by Gorilla Glass coating and will be running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Announced last year by Google Executive Chairman, Eric Schmidt, the Google Nexus tablet was delayed because the search engine giant wanted to give it all the assets to make it a sales leader, said Display Search analyst Richard Shim.

Reports have indicated that Google plans to reach a production between 1.5 and 2 million units. With their new tablet, Google hopes to compete against Amazon’s Kindle Fire, priced $199, but also against an alleged 7.85-inch iOS tablet, unofficially dubbed iPad Mini, that might see the light of day in Q3 2012.
