Samsung Galaxy S3 AT&T Pre-orders Begin On June 6th, Price Is $200

Samsung Galaxy S3 was officially unveiled one month ago during a London-based event and since then all the Android enthusiasts are craving to get their hands on the quad-core smartphone.

The South Korean company already made Galaxy S3 available for purchase on 28 markets, including Europe, India and Malaysia, and today we’re coming with good news if you are reading this from US.

Yesterday, Samsung officially announced that their flagship will land on the US market via  AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and US Cellular sometime in June. Today, AT&T comes to confirm the arrival of Samsung Galaxy S3 on the North American continent, and they also revealed the price and the when pre-orders will begin.

Talking about pre-orders, a week after Samsung Galaxy S3 was showcased in London, the South Korea-based company announced that over 9 million units have already been pre-ordered all over the planet.

As about the AT&T variant of the Samsung flagship, the US carrier’s officials have announced that the 16 GB model will be available for purchase at a price of $199.99 on a two-year agreement. For an extra $39 you can add a 16 GB microSD card, and combined with the 50 GB of Drobox storage you will have 82 GB of storage on your high end device.

Jeff Bradley, senior vice president, Devices, AT&T Mobility said that “The addition of the Samsung Galaxy S3 to our portfolio of 4G-LTE devices gives our customers another truly cutting-edge smartphone to choose from.”

Because the quad-core 1.4 GHz Exynos 4 Quad chipsed doesn’t support 4G LTE connection, thus the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 variant will sport a dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chipset. Even though earlier rumors claimed that the 4G LTE Samsung Galaxy S3 for US will come with only 1 GB of RAM, now we know for sure that the Android Ice Cream Sandwich-powered handheld will sport 2 GB of RAM, just like the variant designed for Docomo Japan.

AT&T will start accepting pre-orders for Samsung Galaxy S3 as of June 6th.

But AT&T isn’t the only carrier that will have the Galaxy S3 in their line-up as the high-end smartphone will arrive at four other US carriers, as well. It was initially speculated that the T-Mobile variant will sport the Exynos 4 Quad chipset after all, but the company officially dismissed the rumors.

Sprint will sell the Samsung Galaxy S3 16 GB for $199.99 with a two year contract, while the 32 GB version will be available for $249.99.

We remind you that Samsung Galaxy S3 comes pre-loaded with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich and sports a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution 1,280 x 720 pixels and an 8 megapixel camera with support for full HD video recording.

It also comes with loads of interesting features like S-Voice (Samsung’s response to Apple’s personal assistant, Siri), S-Beam (which allows to easily transfer files to another device sporting the same technology), Smart Stay (which keeps the display awake as long as you are looking at it using eye tracking technology), Burst Shot and Best Photo (takes 20 stills, chooses the best one and deletes the rest), Direct Call (easily call a contact displayed on the screen by holding the device up to your ear), and many other such goodies.
