Samsung Galaxy R Style LTE Smartphone Officially Released In South Korea

Samsung launched a new smartphone in South Korea, the company’s homeland. It is called Samsung Galaxy R and it was created on the architecture of the very popular Samsung Galaxy S II.

Samsung Galaxy R integrates a 4.3-inch display and leaves the factory gates pre-loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, of course, helped by the TouchWiz user interface.

The new smartphone is thicker than Samsung Galaxy S II and reaches 9.8 mm. Galaxy R is thicker than its cousin because the South Korean phone maker have fitted a 2,000 mAh battery instead of the 1,650 mAh solution chosen for Galaxy S II.

In terms of connectivity Samsung Galaxy R packs all the technologies worthy of a modern smartphone Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC. There will be two Galaxy R variants in South Korea: one with support for GSM/ 3G/ LTE and the other one with GSM / 3G/ CMDA 1x LTE capabilities.

The processor is coming from Qualcomm and it was clocked at 1.5 GHz. The smartphone packs a 5 megapixel camera.

Let’s recap the technical specifications of Samsung Galaxy R Style: 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display with 16 million colors, dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 chipset, 16 GB of internal storage, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, LTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, microUSB, 3.5 mm jack, 5 megapixel camera and 2,000 mAh battery.

As simple as it looks. One year ago these were the ingredients of a high-end smartphone, but now after the quad-core devices have taken over the high-end segment, Samsung Galaxy R Style can only fit in the mid range category.

Thus, if you are reading this from South Korea and you haven’t decided yet what LTE smartphone you should buy, Samsung Galaxy R Style should fit the bill just perfect.
