Brits Queue Up For Samsung Galaxy S3, UK Stocks Are Out

Samsung Galaxy S3 is already a sales hit, or at least that’s what the situation in UK looks like. Not that we wouldn’t already have enough clues the Galaxy S III is a records smasher, as the South Korean company announced that over 9 million units were pre-ordered one week after the official launch.

Well Samsung Galaxy S3 was made available for purchase in UK where the Birts formed lines in front of the retailers and, guess what, the smartphone is already out of stock.

The new Samsung flagship equipped with a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display and quad-core Exynos CPU have cause queues like the one you can see in the picture above in all the British stores it arrived in, no matter they were retailers or carriers.

It seems that there are some problems with the Pebble Blue model, and the shipping time for this version was delayed 2-3 weeks. The British carriers and retailers have also increased the shipping time, O2 announcing 5 days of waiting, the Vodafone customers will have to wait 4 days, while T-Mobile announced that the shippments will begin tomorrow.

Clove, the online retailer will start shipping the Samsung Galaxy S3 as of June 1st and the people were instructed to contact the store’s customer service  before paying it a visit, in order not to waist their time at queues just to find out that the smartphone is out of stock.

Samsung officially announced that the Pebble Blue Samsung Galaxy S3 model will be delayed due to a manufacturing fault. Sources indicated that the colors of the Pebble Blue back lid and the front panel were not matching, thus Samsung had to destroy over 600,000 back cases. Hopefully, the South Korean phone marker announced that things will return to normal in less than three weeks.

Samsung Galaxy S3 was introduced on May 3rd at Samsung Unpacked event in London and the flagship device is set to become the official phone of the 2012 Olympic Games.

The new Samsung smartphone packs a quad-core 1.4 Exynos 4 Quad CPU, faster than any other processor you’ve ever seen before, 1 GB of RAM, 16/32/64 GB of internal storage and a free two year subscription to Dropbox which brings 50 GB of storage in the cloud.

The 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display has a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and is protected by Gorilla Glass 2 coating while the primary 8 megapixel camera comes with autofocus, LED flash, 1080p video recording support and simultaneous HD video and image recording.

Galaxy S3 sports HSDPA 21 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0, 3.5 mm jack and NFC chip.

The new Samsung flagship comes with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box, decorated by the South Koreans’ own user interface, TouchWiz 4.0. The device has interesting features like Smart Stay (the display won’t dim as long as you are looking at it), S-Voice (Samsung’s rival for the more famous Siri), Pop up Play (allows the user to play a windowed video on any of the homescreens) or Best Photo (the camera takes 20 pictures in burst mode, choosing the best one for you) and many other such treats.

Until 2-3 years ago the queues for a new generation of smartphone were strictly associated with Apple iPhone, but here we are, in 2012, with people waiting in line to get their hands on Nokia Lumia 900 LTE in US and Galaxy S3 in Great Britain. It seems that the world is changing…
