Lenovo LePhone K800 With Intel Chipset Officially Launched In China

Three smartphones powered by Intel chipsets and Android OS have been announced so far – Lava Xolo in India, Orange Santa Clara, which will be unveiled tomorrow and Lenovo LePhone K800 which just hit the Chinese market.

K800 sports an Intel Atom CPU clocked at 1.6 GHz and is running on Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread. The smartphone created by Intel and Lenovo features a 4.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels, says CNet.

Featuring an 8 megapixel camera on the back and an a front-facing 1.3 megapixel sensor, the Intel Atom smartphone uses the wireless display created by Intel, which allows the user to stream videos on a compatible HD TV directly from their phone.

The Lenovo LePhone K800 has a price tag of $524 and is the second Intel-based smartphone that goes on sale after Lava Xolo 900 was launched in India in April. The next few months will bring even more Intel Atom smartphone launches, devices manufactured by companies like Motorola, ZTE and Orange.

Lenovo is now trying to extend on the global smartphone market, thus it would be logical to bring this smartphone in Europe, too.

The first Intel Atom-powered smartphone that will hit the Old Continent is Orange Santa Clara. The device features a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen, 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal flash storage. Orange Santa Clara is underpinned by a single-core Intel Atom Z2460 clocked at 1.6 GHz has a primary 8 megapixel camera and sports a front-facing camera for video calls.

Orange Santa Clara comes pre-loaded with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and with an upgrading plan to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. In terms of connectivity it packs 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, microUSB, and 3.5 mm jack. Santa Clara weighs in 117 grams and it’s 10 mm thick.
