HTC Evo 4G LTE Units Pre-ordered At Sprint To Be Delivered On May 24th

The International Trade Commission patent dispute between HTC and Apple can be very annoying. Because of this, the Evo 4G LTE had been previously announced to be delayed by Sprint. However, the problem seems to be solved because the carrier has just announced that the HTC Evo 4G LT pre-orders will be satisfied in time, on May 24. On the other hand, Sprint also stated that the details concerning the full national launch will be provided ASAP, so it’s not entirely clear if Sprint will have the required inventory to begin the shipments on a national level.

Nevertheless, if Sprint says that it can be done, it means that the customers who made a pre-order for the HTC EVO 4G LTE should expect the device starting May 24.

If the shipments do get delayed and you are not willing to wait an extra week, you should consider cancelling the pre-order following Sprint’s instructions which probably can still be applied. In case you could not make the pre-order, there is nothing else to do but wait and see if HTC is allowed to ship the smartphones in the US (it all depends on HTC’s customizations its US Android phones).

Update: an internal memo published by Inside Sprint Now notes that the carrier does not accept pre-order cancellations for the HTC EVO 4G LTE. So, in case you’ve changed your mind about the device, and still want to cancel your order, Sprints advises you to wait for the phone to be delivered and return it using the standard way.

The HTC Evo 4G LTE comes with a 4.7-inch Super IPS LCD2 capacitive display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and a 312 ppi pixel density. The devices packs 16 GB of internals storage which can be expanded with a microSD of up to 32 GB and 1GB of RAM. In the back, the phone has an 8 MP camera with autofocus and LED flash. The camera features Simultaneous HD video and image recording, geo-tagging, face, smile detection and video stabilization. As for the operating system, the HTC Evo 4G LTE is powered by Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich.
