Motorola Xoom 2 Available In Northern Europe

Even if Android reached the 4.0 ICS version long ago and many users consider it to be the most functional Android version so far, by some reasons Motorola isn’t keen on integrating it on its tablets. In other words, the American company, which was acquired by Google last year, is still trusting Android  3.2 Honeycomb on its tablets meaning Motorola Xoom 2 and Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition. The latest news is that the company reported that the Honeycomb tablets can be bought in the countries of the Scandinavian region as well.

The tabled was launched firstly in the United States at the end of last year, but under the name of Motorola XyBoard. The thing is that the device wasn’t so popular among american customers mainly because the hardware used to manufacture it wasn’t the nest, it wasn’t very cheap and, of course, because the operating system had an older version. Nevertheless, perhaps the people in Scandinavia will like Motorola’s tablets and actually buy it. Both Motorola Xoom 2 and Motorola Xoom 2 Media edition can already be purchased in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland.

The display specs are what differentiate the two tablets in the family. The Motorola Xoom 2 sports a 10.1-inch display having a resolution of 800 x 1280 with a pixel density of 149 ppi, way less than the iPad 3, and the Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition has a smaller display of 8.2 inches with the same pixel resolution, thus having a little more reasonable pixel density of 184 ppi.

As you probably figure it out, the Motorola Xoom 2 is heavier (around 600 grams), while the Motorola Xoom 2 Media edition has 284 grams.

The rest of the components and specs are the same for both tablets. Motorola Xoom 2 and its smaller brother come with a 1.2FHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor, an OMAP 4430 SoC built by Texas Instruments, a PowerVR SGX540 GPU, 1GB of RAM and Android 3.2 Honeycomb as an operating system. The rear camera it’s not so great having only 5 MP while the front shooter has 1.3 MP.

Both Motorola Xoom 2 tablets can be purchased on El-Gigantii at a price of EUR 399 in Finland, in Denmark it costs DKK 2990 and can be bought via El-Giganten, the people in Noway can bought the tablet via Elkjop at a price beginning at NOK 2999, and in Sweden the price starts at SEK 3595 and can be purchased via El-Giganten.
