First BlackBerry 10 OS Screen Shots Officially Revealed

The BlackBerry World made the headlines last week, an event that took place in USA, where the BlackBerry 10 OS was demoed for the first time. RIM’s new mobile platform is in the early developing stage, the basis of the OS have been set up, thus the first screen captures revealing the user interface have hit the web.

The pictures emerged during a Research in Motion conference in London, where the first details regarding the new BlackBerry 10 OS platform have been presented. So, we got to see the first pictures that show us ho the Home screen and application list looks like, which can be accessed by swiping left while in the main screen. By swiping up in the lower right corner you can access the messaging inbox. All these swipe gestures make me think about the way the QNX OS is controlled on the PlayBook tablet, which probably was the inspiration for RIM and their new BlackBerry 10 OS.

After taking a close look at the BlackBerry 10 OS screen shots I can honestly say it looks great and that it can bee what RIM expected for years. The design of the icons is a reminiscent of ONX, and those “widgets,” if I can call them this way, they are looking good, as well.

BlackBerry 10 OS will be the platform to underpin a new line-up of RIM smartphones that won’t pack the full QWERTY keyboard that made the BB devices so popular. Anyway, the Canadian company won’t ditch the classic line-up of smartphones that sport a physical keyboard.

Let’s hope that the BlackBerry 10 OS will become a viable product soon, but I have a feeling that we will still have to wait a bit until RIM finalizes their new OS.
