HTC One X Receives Android 4.0.1 ICS Firmware Update For Bug Fixes

HTC One X, world’s first quad-core smartphone have just received a firmware update for the second time since it hit the market. The new software is available in the 1.29.401.7 version and it will be rolled out for the European users that own an unbranded and unlocked One X.

The Android 4.0.1 Ice Cream Sandwich firmware update for HTC One X has a size of 35 MB and comes with a series of bug fixes and changes that will improve the system performance. The HTC One X smartphones sold via European carriers next week or the week after. HTC One X was launched running on version 1.26, then it jumped to version 1.27 and 1.28 via official firmware updates. Anyway, the users will have to appreciate the fact that HTC is releasing updates and bug fixes so soon after the official launch.

You probably remember the small issues of the display with that flickering. Well they were all solved by an OTA update the next day they were reported. Let’s hope that other companies will follow HTC’s example and fix their product problems soon after the launch.

As you probably know HTC One X features a huge 4.7-inch Super IPS LCD2 with 16 million colors and a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels that is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass coating. The Android Ice Cream Sandwich powered smartphone also packs 32 GB of internal flash storage, 1 GB of RAM and a 1.5 GHz Tegra 3 chipset, member of the quad-core family.

One X comes with an 8 megapixel primary camera with autofocus, dual LED flash and simultaneous HD video and image recording support, capable of recording full HD videos at 30 fps. The secondary, front-facing, camera has a 1.3 megapixel sensor and it supports 720p video recording. In terms of connectivity the device comes with WiFi, Bluetooth, microUSB and 3.5 mm audio jack. Summing up a pretty awesome smartphone.
