iPhone Pro, A Smartphone Concept With DSLR Camera

The iPhone 4S was introduced last year, in October, but the international press is already talking about the features and the deign of the iPhone 5. Well, a talented designer have created a concept of an iOS powered device that is pretty interesting. The designer named his concept iPhone Pro.

What do you think about an iPhone with big wide display, with a size of 4.5 inches and a 3D camera? This is iPhone Pro, a smartphone concept created by Jinyoung Choi which comes with a 1.2 megapixel camera with support for 3D capture. But what impressed me about the iPhone Pro is that is compatible with a DSLR accessory.

The back side of Choi’s concept is modular and you can attach a DSLR camera, or a projector or external HDD. The smartphone supports a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels and is only 9.6 mm thick. If you want an enhanced audio experience, feel free to attach a set of portable speakers in the modular area.

Considering that the iPhone Pro has to capture high resolution photos, the CPU should be able to handle this task, thus I guess the designer thought at a quad-core unit, maybe even the highly rumored Apple A6.

In terms of design, iPhone Pro seems like a combination between iPhone 4S and 3GS and the metallic case looks pretty awesome. The only thing Choi should worry about is the weight of the camera sensor, which can loosen up the attaching mechanism over time. Moreover, because the smartphone is so slim and the DSLR is thick and heavy, I guess that the iPhone Pro is pretty tough to handle.

Anyway, this is just a concept and it will never be retailed by Apple. Moreover accessories like the ones for iPhone Pro are already available on the market, compatible with iPhone 4S; even cases with DSLR lens for 4S’ camera.
