Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 Gets Benchmarked

Some Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300) benchmark tests have hit the web, soon after we were able to admire the first two teasers for the Samsung Unpacked 2012 event in London, where the most anticipated smartphone of 2012 will officially debut.

The smartphone that got benchmarked is codenamed Samsung GT-I9300, thus it might be the Galaxy S3, but we can’t guarantee it 100%. Still, after taking a look at the performances of this terminal I am tempted to believe that the device is the real deal and that’s what Samsung should launch.

A clumsy tester have forgot to delete the results of the new smartphone from GLBenchmark. Of course, they were removed soon after, but, fortunately, the guys at Phonearena were fast enough to print screen the benchmark scores of the alleged Samsung Galaxy S3 and you can take a quick glance, too, in the gallery below.

Rumor has it that the impressive benchmark scores were achieved using a quad-core 1.4 GHz Exynos 4412 processor helped by an ARM Mali 400 GPU, overclocked at 400 MHz, thus 50% faster than the one currently on Galaxy S2. Thus the graphic performances might grow 50% which is pretty decent. Personally I hoped to see a last-gen Mali T-604 GPU, but it would have probably made the device too expensive.

Returning to the benchmark tests, they were most likely made with a Galaxy S3 prototype, thus the final version could be even better. Still the performances are impressive, as the Exynos CPU placed inside the new Samsung flagship smartphone overscored both Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 and Nvidia’s Tegra 3.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 that got benchmarked overscored iPhone 4S in terms of GPU and I9300′s graphic processing performances are somewhere near the new iPad and its PowerVR. Thus, it looks like Samsung Galaxy S3 prototype is currently the most graphically capable smartphone. I wonder if the final version will be even better…
