Toshiba Excite 7.7, 10 and 13 Release Date And Specs Officially Revealed

When Toshiba has launched the Thrive tablets not only that the success was minimal, but there were a lot of complaints about their battery life being short and also that the design gave the feeling of a cheap device. Because of that Toshiba gave up on the previous tablets and started working on new ones from scratch. So, there you go! A new generation of tablets will be released by Toshiba. It’s called Excite and comes in three versions meaning 7.7, 10 and 13.

Yes, Toshiba really developed a 13-inch tablet. The design is much nicer than the Thrive and they look really well, slim and having textured aluminum backs. All three tables come packed with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor and 1GB of RAM. Also, the Toshiba 7.7, 10 and 13 come with a 5MP which can record video at HD quality.

The Toshiba excite 7.7 differentiate itself from the other two because it features the same AMOLED display as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7. Now lets give some specs for each tablet in particular.

First of all, the Toshiba Excite 7.7 obviously has a 7.7-inch AMOLED display (the biggest AMOLED screen that can be developed so far). Besides the features mentioned for the overall Excite line, it has a micro-USB as well as a microSD port. In case you want to buy it you will have to pay $499 for the 16GB model and $579.99 for the 32GB one. The Toshiba Excite 7.7 will be released on June 10th.

Second, the Toshiba Excite 10 will feature a 10.1-inch LED display having a 1280 x 800 resolution. When it comes to connectivity it has a microHDMI as well as microUSB port. Also, you can insert a full-size SD card in it. Toshiba announced a battery life of around 10 hours. As for the prices the Excite 10 will come at $449.99 with 16GB of internal memory, $529.99 for the 32GB version and the 64GB model will be priced at $649. All versions will be launched on May 6th.

Finally, the Toshiba Excite 13 (which is the biggest tablet ever manufactured and only for this reason should be interesting to give a try) sports a 13.3-inch LED display having a resolution of 1600 x 900 and 16:9 aspect ratio. It has the same connectivity slots as the Excite 10, but it’s a little thicker having 0.4 inches. Also, the battery will last longer (about 13 hours). The Toshiba Excite 13 will be available at $529.99 for the one with 32GB of internal storage and $749.99 for the 64GB version. There is no 16GB model for the 13-incher.
