Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Leaked ROM For Samsung Galaxy Note Hits The Web

A couple of weeks ago Samsung announced the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich firmware update for Galaxy Note will be delayed until late spring. Still the South Korean phone maker promised Note owners that it will be worth waiting so much, because once Ice Cream Sandwich will come on Galaxy Note with loads of new features.

Named Premium Suite, the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for Samsung Galaxy Note will come with new apps meant to get the most out of the smartphone’s features, especially the S-Pen. Thus, the Galaxy Note owners will be able to digitize their geometric shapes or solve numeric formulas with the S-Pen. Another app, called “My Story,” will allow you to use photos, drawings, notes, recordings or videos to create custom digital cards.

Samsung have teamed-up with with Rovio and all the Samsung Galaxy Note users will enjoy 30 bonus levels for the new Angry Birds Space.

Besides all these minor improvements, the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for Samsung Galaxy Note will also bring Face Unlock, a new drawing app, Snapshot, and lots of other goodies.

Even though Samsung haven’t announced the exact release date for the Ice Cream Sandwich update for Galaxy Note, those who can’t wait until the official version is rolled out can install the new firmware update on their smartphone right now.

An early build of the Android 4.0 version for Note have hit the RootzWiki forums and can be flashed right now. Anyone can install the new firmware version on their Note as long as they are aware of the risks of an unfinished version. The firmware update comes as an .EXE file, so the update can only be performed from a Windows machine.

It seems that S Pen-specific applications promised by Samsung for the Android 4.0 update weren’t included in this build, and both TouchWiz and Google Play store will crash wen they are first launched. Apparently, this issue won’t persist afterwards.

Samsung Galaxy Note features a 5.3-inch Super AMOLED display, dual-core 1.4 GHz Exynos Cortex A9 CPU, 1 GB of RAM, 16/32 GB of internal flash storage and 8 megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and support for full HD video recording.
