Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Public Beta Firmware Update For Meizu MX And M9 Now Available For Download

Everyone was taken by surprise after Huawei Honor have received Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich beta way ahead of Samsung Galaxy S2 and HTC Sensation, today the Chinese of Miezu showed us they are moving fast, too. The China-based company announced that the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich public beta firmware update for Miezu and Meizu M9.

Two or three years ago Meizu was a company famous for manufacturing the best iPhone clone, but now it got the respect it deserved both in Asia and overseas. The company is manufacturing handsets based on Google’s Android OS, and they come with decent technical specifications. Meizu MX and M9 are now receiving the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich public beta firmware update after it was tested by devs over the past one and a half months. The new Ice Cream Sandwich release is based on the stock Android 4.0 firmware, so the user interface was not customized.

The Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for Meizu MX and Meizu M9 will bring face unlock, a more efficient multitasking system and it will allow the users to take stills while recording videos. The private beta testing program for Android 4.0 was initiated by Meizu in mid February and returned excellent feedback. During the private beta testing a both the developers and small number of Huawei owners were test Android 4.0 ICS on their smartphones. They reported back that the new OS improved the overall speed of their smartphones and that the lag was reduced. Moreover, the new firmware update brings bug fixes for Meizu MX.

The flagship smartphone of the China-based company, Meizu MX, comes with a 4.0-inch ASV display, dual-core 1.4 GHz Exynos Cortex A9 CPU, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal flash storage, 8 megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and 1080p video recording support, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, microUSB 2.0 and HSDPA 21.6 Mbps.
