HTC One XL Gets Benchmarked, Destroys Nvidia Tegra 3

It was rumored that the dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor is faster then Nvidia’s quad core Tegra 3 processor and now the benchmark tests confirm the rumors. As you probably know, HTC One X will come either with Qualcomm’s dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor or with Nvidia’s quad-core Tegra 3 CPU, depending on the market. The US version dual-core HTC One X will feature a 4G LTE chip and is designed for AT&T’s technology. Now let’s see how the two HTC One X variations did in benchmark tests.

This Android-powered smartphone introduced at MWC 2012 will be rebranded once it hits the US market, and will be called HTC One XL, a justified name considering that it features a 4.7-inch display. The guys at Android Central published the benchmark scores of both HTC One X terminals and as you can see in the gallery below, the model powered by Snapdragon S4 Krait behaved better. You can see for yourself that the device with the dual-core Snapdragon S4 CPU scored 4,952 points in Quadrant, overperforming devices like Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy Tab or Nexus S.

HTC One XL was the best device in the Vellamo benchmark test, where it had higher scores than Asus Transformer Prime running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, world’s first tablet to feature a quad-core chipset.  The Snapdragon S4 chipset also overtook devices like Galaxy Nexus, Motorola Xoom, Xperia Arc, Motorola Atrix and many other tablet and smartphone models. For example if HTC One XL scores twice more points than Galaxy Nexus it doesn’t mean it would be twice as fast in day by day usage.

Seeing how good the Snapdragon S4 chipset performs, I can only wonder how S5′s scores will look like. Is Qualcomm world’s best chipset developer or Nvidia will be able to cope with the competition? Please let us know what your opinion is on the matter. The comments section bellow is all yours.
