Acer Iconia Tab A510 Now Available For Pre-Order At $450

Acer Iconia Tab A510 is an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich-powered tablet presented in January at CES 2012 event in Las Vegas along with its bigger sister Iconia Tab A700.

Acer Iconia Tab A510 comes with an 10-inch display with a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels. Even though the resolution is lower than A700′s (it comes with 1,920 x 1,200 pixels), Iconia A510 is still capable of displaying 720p HD videos.

The 720p playback capabilities are there thanks to the Tegra 3 hardware platform developed by Nvidia. Thus, the tablet is powered by a quad-core Tegra 3 chipset clocked at 1.3 GHz and it comes with 1 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal flash storage and a 9,800 Li-Ion battery which can keep Iconia Tab A510 alive for up to 15 hours. It also comes with 5 megapixel camera and support for 720p video recording.

In terms of connectivity Acer Iconia Tab A510 is doing pretty fine: you can connect to the internet via WiFi or 3G and the handheld features HDMI out and USB and a card-reader.

Acer Iconia Tab A510 will come pre-loaded with Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, with a user interface that was customized by the Taiwan-based manufacturer. Acer implemented a sort of circular widget that allows you to access the applications you recently used with lightning-fast speed. Because Android 4.0 ICS is a highly customizable OS you can choose the launcher yourself and install one that best suits your needs.

Well this Android 4.0 tablet is ready to arrive on the US store shelves. Acer announced that Acer Iconia Tab A510 will soon become available for purchas and the pre-order session already kicked-off. Thus, if you want to get your hands on a pretty amazing quad-core Tegra 3 10.1-inch slate running on Google’s latest version of their mobile operating system it can be yours for as much as $449.99.

I strongly believe that Acer Iconia Tab A510 is a good alternative to Apple’s new iPad. The 16 GB WiFi-only version has a price of $499 and if it wasn’t for the Retina Display, the iOS tablet would have been just a mediocre device.
