Sony Announces Xperia Neo L, Its First Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Smartphone

Sony has revealed the company’s first Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich-powered smartphone: the Xperia Neo L. Although it hasn’t released all the details regarding this smartphone, we know that the Sony Xperia Neo L will be powered by a 1GHz single-core Snapdragon processor, 512MB RAM, and a 5-megapixel camera on the back among others.

The company has announced this handset via its Chinese website which suggests that the Sony Xperia Neo L will only be available in China. Sony didn’t say a word regarding worldwide availability, but we wouldn’t be too surprised if the device will be released exclusively in the Asian continent.

It has been confirmed that the Sony Xperia Neo L will have a 4-inch touchscreen with multitouch and a 854 x 480 resolution, and a secondary front-facing camera for video conferences. The VGA camera in the front will also allow users to take advantage of the Face Unlock feature introduced in Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The price and exact release date of the smartphone haven’t been announced, however, the company said that it’s coming “soon.” It’s doubtful that Sony will become successful once again on the smartphone market considering the fact that the Xperia Neo L doesn’t have at least a dual-core CPU, full HD video recording, a higher display resolution, and more RAM.

Well, let’s just wait for more information regarding Sony’s future plans before drawing a final conclusion. Check out the Xperia Neo L photo and let us know what do you think about it!
