HP Launches Ivy Bridge-Powered DV4, DV6, DV7, And G4 Pavilion Laptops

HP just launched a new line-up of laptops based on the Intel Ivy Bridge architecture, which aligns the HP Pavilion dv4-5000, HP Pavilion dv6-7000 and HP Pavilion dv7-7000 models.

Even though the launch was not preceded by an aggressive advertising campaign to announced the new Ivy Bridge processors, HP updated their website soon after the launching event of their new Pavilion laptops.

The Palo Alto-based company have updated their official website to include the newly-launched Pavilion dv4, Pavilion dv6 and Pavilion dv7, first HP laptops to include the Intel Ivy Bridge built on 22nm technology.

The rumors speaking about the delays caused by the production process of the chipsets based on Ivy Bridge architecture seem to be accurate, as the release date or the price of the new laptops of the HP Pavilion line-up haven’t been unveiled yet.

The new HP Pavilion dv7-7000 has a 17-inch display and is powered by a Intel Core i7 processor clocked at 2.6 GHz. HP Pavilion dv7-7000 sports an Nvidia GeForce GT 650M video card, up to 8 GB of RAM and a storage capacity that can reach 2 TB.

Smaller than dv7, HP Pavilion dv6-7000 has a display size of 15.6-inches and is using an Intel Core i7 CPU clocked at 2.3 GHz. The new Ivy Bridge-based laptop can feature Nvidia GeForce GT 630M or Nvidia GeForce GT 650M video card. HP Pavilion dv6-7000 comes packed with the same amount of RAM or internal storage as it’s bigger brother, the HP Pavilion dv7-7000.

The smallest member of the tribe, HP Pavilion dv4-5000, sports a 14-inch display and technical specifications similar to dv6-7000. The storage capacity of the HP Pavilion dv4-5000 was limited to 1 TB.

For the time being HP haven’t revealed the details regarding the release date or the prices of the new Ivy Bridge laptops, but rumor has it that HP Pavilion dv4-5000, HP Pavilion dv6-7000 and HP Pavilion dv7-7000 will be available for purchase sometime in April.
