Verizon Teases iPad 3 By Saying That “Something Is Coming”

Verizon says that something is coming and that we should sign-up for updates in order to be the first to know what’s going on. Well, we already know what’s coming: it’s Apple’s iPad 3. Or iPad HD, if it were to believe a recent set of rumors.

The intriguing part is that Verizon is getting all excited about the next iOS tablet, but it is believed that the slate will feature 4G LTE support. Earlier today an inside source claimed that the iPad 3 will indeed have a built-in 4G LTE chipset, and that the tablet will become available on both AT&T and Verizon.

The iPad HD, or whatever it will be called, will be announced during an event in San Francisco at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. The conference will begin at 10AM PST which means that there are less than seven hours until we’re going to get the chance to play with the next-generation iPad.

It’s very unlikely that the tablet will be powered by a quad-core processor as the Apple A5X CPU is probably an improved version of the dual-core A5 CPU. The processor in the iPad 3 is expected to be clocked at 1.5GHz, and it will get help from a very powerful GPU of unknown origins.

The iPad HD will feature a 9.7-inch Retina Display that will have a resolution of 2,048 x 1,536 resolution. Many developers have already expressed their concern regarding this display because they will get well over the 20MB download limit meaning that users will have to connect to a WiFi network to download most of their favorite iPad applications.

For the moment, these are only rumors so we’re going to have to wait six to seven more hours in order to find out everything about the next-gen iOS tablet.
