Google Nexus Tablet Coming In H2 2012, Will Be Built By Asus, And Will Feature Android 4.0 ICS And Quad-Core Tegra 3 CPU

There is no doubt that Google will want to offer the pure Android experience for tablets users in the future, but many people are wondering who will be the chosen one, who will manufacture the device in question. According to two separate sources, Asus will launch a Google Nexus Tablet in the near future, and the device’s specs will be amazing, while the price will kept to a┬áminimum.

AndroidAndMe reports that the Google Nexus Tablet release date is the second half of 2012, and that the Android tablet will feature a 7-inch touchscreen, and that it will be powered by a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor.

Although Motorola was touted to be the first Android tablet maker to offer the pure Android experience through the Xoom, we’ve all seen how successful and how “pure” the experience has been judging by the Android 3.0 Honeycomb penetration rate.

Some may find it weird that it’s not Motorola because Google bought Motorola Mobility last year, but Asus has done a lot of work recently, it was the first to release an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich tablet, and it has revealed several other tablets at the Mobile World Congress 2012.

The Google Nexus Tablet price will stand at $199 despite the fact that it will feature Android 4.0 ICS and that it will be powered by a quad-core Tegra 3 CPU. The advantage of the pure Android slate is the 7-inch touchscreen that will allow Asus to keep the costs to a minimum.

At the moment it’s still unknown whether the Google Nexus Tablet will offer a camera, 3G support, microSD card slot, NFC capabilities, or huge internal memory, but more details will be revealed in the near future.

We’ve heard rumors about a Nexus tablet before therefore we’re not surprised to hear one more. We’re just hoping that Google will not be too late to a party dominated by Apple’s iPad. Another worthy competitor will be Microsoft as we’ve all seen that Windows 8 is more than capable of competing against iOS and Android.
