Apple Cuts Down iPad 2 Price Amid iPad 3 Announcement Event

Apple Cuts Down iPad 2 Price Amid iPad 3 Announcement Event

Since Apple announced a couple of days ago that it has something we really need to see and touch everybody is talking about the new iPad 3, even though it’s presence at the Apple event in San Francisco was not confirmed by the officials of the Cupertino-based company.

The rumor mill points towards a Retina display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and an improved dual-core A5X chipset as the main upgrades of the iPad 3 tablet. Of course, these are just rumors now and no official confirmed them.

Even though it wasn’t confirmed by the official Apple faces, everyone in the tech gossip business is 100% sure that the upcoming event will mark the debut of the iPad 3 tablet. What other products will be launched alongside the new Apple tablet? We can’t know for sure, but they say that the 8GB version of the iPad 2 tablet will also be showcased at the event in San Francisco.

Prior to the iPad 3 launch on March 7th, Apple have lowered the prices of the 16GB and 32GB iPad 2 tablets, in order to boost up the sales a little bit. Thus, the price of both the 16GB and 32GB iPad 2 devices was lowered by $50 and now the Apple tablets can be yours for $449 and $549.

The iPad 2 have recently won the Tablet of the Year Award at Mobile World Congress 2012 event in Barcelona and it is said that Apple is preparing an 8GB version for their second generation of tablets, rumored to come at a price between $349-399.

Maybe the Cupertino-based company would want to have a product able to compete on the low-end segment, or maybe the Cupertino giant is fearing the threat of the upcoming Windows 8 tablets. Either way the customer are the only ones winning from this fight held on the tablet battlefield, as more products mean more options to choose from.

The the iPad 2 price cut have set up the red carpet for the iPad 3 arrival, and there’s no doubt that the new tablet will be introduced next week at the  Apple event in San Francisco, but we are wondering whether the Cupertino-based company would launch the cheap 8GB iPad 2 on March 7th. What is your opinion? Please let us know.
