How To Setup Windows Live / Hotmail Push Support Via Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync On Android Devices

For all Android users I have good news. You must know that you can activate the push email on your Android device. If you activate the push email, you will be able to sync your email, your contacts and your calendar. Also, you may know that the sync is between your Android device and Windows Live / Hotmail. When you will receive a new email, you will automatically receive a notification. If you want to learn how to sync your Android device with Windows Live / Hotmail, read the following article.

Things to know before start the complete guide of sync Android devices with Windows Live / Hotmail:

  • is 100% fully working for phones that runs: Android 2.2 and older, Android 2.3;

  • is 100% fully working for tablets that runs: Android 3.0 / 3.1 Honeycomb;

Now, you must to download and install the following APK files:

  • the Original Android Froyo FRG22 Email app 2.2, you will be able to download it from here(Mail.apk).

  • the Email app 2.2.1 (from CyanogenMod 6.1.1), you can download it from here(Email.apk).

  • the Email app modified to bypass Exchange security, you can download it from here(Email (Bypass Exchange Security).apk).

  • the Email app modified to support Exchange 2010 SP1, you will be able to download from here(Email (Exchange 2010 SP1).apk).

Here are the instructions for How To Setup Windows Live / Hotmail Push Support Via Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync On Android Devices:
  1. First you must to open the Email app on your Android device.

  2. Next you must to enter your email(MSN /Windows Live / Hotmail) informations(type your address and your password).

  3. Now, you must to tap the Manual setup button.

  4. Next, you must to simply tap the Exchange button.

  5. Now, you must to edit the Server Settings:

    • at Server section: m.hotmail.com

    • at Domain section: don’t type

    • at Username section: your email address

    • at Use Secure Connection section(SSL): must to be enable

    • at Accept all SSL certifications section: must to be enable.

  6. Next, you must to tap the Next button.

  7. Now, you will be able to edit the various Account options for the previous Hotmail account. You must to enable push email.

  8. Next, you must to press the Next button.

  9. Finally, you must to type a name for the account, like Windows Live Hotmail and then you must to press the Done button.
