Good news for all of you who have the LG Optimus 2X handset. The CyanogenMod 7 ROM for Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 was finally released and it’s a nightly build. It is recommended for testers and even for those of you who want to play around the Gingerbread OS on their device. 1st of all you will need a rooted LG Optimus 2X to install the ROM.

Here are the steps to install the program on your device.

  1. 1st as I said before you will need to root your LG Optimus 2X and install the Room Manager which you will find on the Android Market. There are two versions available. There is no need for you to purchase the paid one because the free one will do just fine.

  2. To install the ROM manager simply use this QR code listed below the article. The process if pretty simple and can be found all over the internet.

  3. After the installation is complete, just open the ROM Manager and then tap ‘Flash ClockworkMod Recovery’. For those of you who are installing CyanogenMod ROM you will 1st need to download and install ClockworkMod Recovery.

  4. Notice there will be a list of devices. From there select LG Optimus 2X.

  5. Now let the ROM Manager to download and install all the needed recovery files. This may take a while and will depend mostly on the network speed you have.

  6. After the ClockworkMod Recovery installation is done you will need to reboot your smartphone.

  7. After turning on your device again you will have to launch again the ROM Manager and tap ‘Download ROM’

  8. Now from the list select CyanogenMod 7 and after check the option ‘Google Apps’ if you like.

  9. After the download is complete a message will appear in which you will be asked if you would like to ‘Backup Existing ROM’ and also ‘Wipe Data and Cache’ before proceeding with the installation. I recommend pressing the “Yes” option.
